🦈 Judges, Deals, and $850K in BTC

Bitcoin’s innovation scene is about to step into the spotlight. Plan ₿ Network and the Plan ₿ VC Fund have announced CypherTank, a first-of-its-kind, Bitcoin-only pitch competition that will showcase breakthrough projects, put real deals on camera, and distribute episodes worldwide by the end of 2025.

Filming will take place in Lugano during the week of the Plan ₿ Forum, with Semifinals scheduled for October 22 and the Finals on October 27. Eleven projects, eight for-profit startups and three nonprofit initiatives, will be invited to pitch in front of Bitcoin’s top investors, with categories spanning on-chain Bitcoin technologies, the Lightning Network, peer-to-peer tools, emerging markets, human rights protection, scientific breakthroughs, and the ambitious Lugano Bitcoin-Citadel.

The competition offers a prize pool of more than $850,000. For-profit startups will share a $450,000 pre-authorized BTC investment from the Plan ₿ VC Fund, plus $200,000 in incubation and acceleration support at the Lugano Plan ₿ Hub. Nonprofits will compete for a $200,000 grant from the Plan ₿ Foundation, with judges able to extend additional live offers during the pitches.

The judging panel features some of the most influential names in the Bitcoin ecosystem, including Paolo Ardoino (Tether / Plan ₿ VC Fund), Oleg Mikhalsky (Fulgur Ventures), Adam Back (Blockstream), Matt Odell (Ten31, OpenSats), Preston Pysh (Ego Death), Allen Farrington (Axiom), Mike Jarmuz (Lightning Ventures), Eric Yakes (Epoch), and Brad Mills (Angel Investor).

“CypherTank is designed to give Bitcoin founders not only capital, but a global stage,” said Giacomo Zucco, Director of the Plan ₿ Network. “By recording real negotiations, scoring pitches, and sharing episodes online, we’re amplifying innovation and drawing attention to Lugano as a Bitcoin hub.”

The timeline is already set: applications opened this month, semifinals will be filmed at PoW.Space in Lugano on October 22, with the grand finals on October 27. Post-production will follow in November, and the series will debut across YouTube, Rumble, and X by year-end.
